Oregon Minimum Wage Increases

For those of you in Oregon who have employees, are an employee, know employees, or frequent a store with employees, this may interest you.  The Oregon Legislature earlier this year enacted a Senate Bill which will steadily increase the Minimum Wage rate with the first one already passed on July 1, 2016 raising rates to $9.75 for most of Oregon Counties.  Minimum wage rates will continue to increase every July 1st through July 1, 2022.  Starting July 1, 2023, the minimum wage rate will be indexed to inflation based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

Below is the Minimum Wage Rate increase table from the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries website:

Portland Metro Areas include Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas Counties.

NOTE: Employers located within Washington, Multnomah and Clackamas counties but NOT within the Urban Growth Boundary will be subject to the standard rate, not the metro rate.

Nonurban Counties include the following: Baker, Coos, Crook, Curry, Douglas, Gilliam, Grant, Harney, Jefferson, Klamath, Lake, Malheur, Morrow, Sherman, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, and Wheeler.
